Church on the Green Neighbourhood Foundation is the Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) set up in December 2020 to develop and realise Project Beacon.
Structure
We are a CIO, a charity with members and trustees, governed by our constitution and the Charities Act 2011, registered with the Charity Commission (CC) under number 1192717. Our trustees include people drawn from St. Andrew’s church and from the wider Christian community in Keighley.
Mission and purpose
Our purpose is to advance the Christian faith, to support people in need and to make St Andrew’s and its grounds available as a flexible community resource for the people of Keighley, particularly those experiencing deprivation, isolation, or vulnerability.
That mission is delivered in close partnership with St Andrew’s Parochial Church Council, under the auspices of the Diocese of Leeds, along with a network of community partners including; Christians Against Poverty, KEYS, Bradford Council, the FoodSavers Network and others.
Governance
The trustees meet regularly to oversee the work of the charity, to monitor finances and to take material operational and strategic decisions involving Project Beacon. Our accounts are reviewed by an independent examiner and are filed annually with the Charity Commission, together with the trustees’ report. These can be downloaded from the CC website at any time.
